More than a week after being found slumped over in a car in a restaurant parking lot, details are slowly coming to light regarding the death of Benjamin Satterley, also known as AEW star PAC.
While the late professional champion’s cause of death has yet to be officially announced, reports on Monday revealed that Satterley allegedly had saliva on the front of his shirt when he was found dead and that police discovered medication in his car.
A police report obtained by the California Post stated that a search of Satterley’s pockets and backpack “did not result in any notable findings,” while the type of medication was redacted in the documents.
Satterley, who also performed in WWE under the name Neville, reportedly was found “passed out” in a vehicle in the parking lot of Cava — a Mediterranean-themed fast-casual restaurant — in Des Plaines, Ill., at 4 p.m. on Sept. 27 — a day after performing on AEW’s All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago. He was 40 years old.
The incident report also stated there were not “any obviously suspicious marks upon Satterley nor circumstances within the vehicle.”
Did PAC’s phone give any clues?
The professional wrestler’s phone did help provide some details, according to the report.
“I noticed that Google Maps was still open on his cellphone and it was routing him to O’Hare Airport,” an officer stated in the police report, before adding that the phone began to buzz while authorities were present.
When they answered, an unnamed woman on the line said they knew Satterley.
“She last spoke to Benjamin on the phone around 1320 hours and he related he was going to CAVA for lunch,” according to the police report. “He had been travelling for his occupation as a professional wrestler for the past three weeks around the United States and had been in the Chicago area since Thursday (09/24/2026) or Friday (09/25/2026).
“She related his flight had been delayed and Benjamin was scheduled on his flight back to the UK at approximately 1530 hours.”
What did dispatch audio reveal?
Emergency dispatch audio was released about the situation, with authorities referring to the professional wrestler as “a slumper.”
“This is going to be a slumper in a car. We cannot confirm breathing yet. At this point, we’re still on the phone getting further,” authorities said in the audio.
The outlet also reported that some of the restaurant’s customers had seen Satterley “passed out” in his vehicle and called for 911.
“There was an ambulance, police and a fire truck, all outside,” the witness told the Post, adding that patrons had looked for medical equipment inside the restaurant in an attempt to help before emergency services arrived.
Satterley was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m., and the Des Plaines Police Department stated there are currently “no indications of foul play and the circumstances surrounding the death are not considered suspicious.”
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has yet to reveal a cause of death, with “additional testing” pending following an initial autopsy, a spokesperson said.
Who was Benjamin Satterley?
Satterley had been a member of the Death Riders stable since 2025, teaming up with AEW Continental champion Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia and Marina Shafir.
In 2022, he was the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic champion and later became a two-time AEW Trios champion.
During his time in WWE, wrestling under the name Adrian Neville and being dubbed “The Man That Gravity Forgot,” he was a two-time WWE Cruiserweight champion, NXT champion and a two-time NXT Tag Team champion.
Satterley became a fan favourite for his incredible aerial ability — his Black Arrow finisher was a corkscrew-senton splash off the top rope — muscular physique, a hard-hitting style, earning his nickname of “The Bastard.”
But for all his intimidating looks, the Brit was known as a kind and warm individual behind the scenes, as was evident in the outpouring of tributes on social media.
