Eugenie Bouchard paid tribute to an iconic popstar from the early 2000s with her choice of Halloween costume, turning heads on social media.
But instead of going with a more apt tribute to Christina Aguilera’s Genie in a Bottle, the retired tennis star paid homage to an unforgettable Britney Spears performance.
Genie drove her followers wild with an outfit resembling Spears’ I’m a Slave 4 U performance at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards.
In one of the biggest moments in VMA history, Spears performed the hit song with a massive albino python draped over her shoulders as she sang and danced on stage 25 years ago.
While Bouchard’s snake was fake, she still nailed Spears’ energy and the outfit.
“It’s Britney, b****,” Bouchard mouthed at the camera before showing off her outfit in a video posted Thursday on Instagram.
She then shared a carousel of photos featuring herself dressed up in a tight green top with small black shorts and featuring a butterfly over her crotch and ribbons hanging off the sides. She completed the outfit with tall, white cowboy boots, a sparkly gold belt and hands-free mic.
Bouchard also shared some images of her night out on the town in New York City with several friends who also dressed for the occasion. She tagged hotspots Room Service and Casa Cipriani in a couple of her posts while also dancing and posing in front a well-stocked bar.
However, the night did appear to end with a slight injury for the 32-year-old Montreal native.
“I think I pierced my belly button (with) my fake belly button ring,” she wrote with a photo of her midriff, which appeared to have a small wound.
Meanwhile, there was no sign of Bouchard’s rumoured boyfriend, OpenAI boss Ian Hathaway.
Bouchard, who had been serving as analyst for BBC Sport during Wimbledon, was spotted on vacation with Hathaway on the beautiful shores of Italy’s Lake Como this summer.

Partying on Halloween has become somewhat of an annual tradition for the one-time Wimbledon finalist.
While she didn’t share any photos on social media last year, her previous costumes have driven followers wild.
Two years ago, she went for more of a comical look by dressing up as a cow for Halloween in Miami.
Bouchard shared photos of herself in a white and black-spotted bodysuit, with cow ears and a fake carton of milk.
Three years ago, Bouchard went with a sexy cat look while partying with friends in Montreal. She wore a sheer black body suit with her midriff exposed and a cat-like mask while posing for photos on a condo balcony.
