Why Dallas Cowboys fans should expect a letdown against lowly Cardinals + NFL Week 8 picks

The lines are from Covers.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

GREEN BAY -3.5 over Carolina

If the Packers really want to establish themselves as a contender, they need to get the run game going a lot better and that’s going to have to start with the offensive line. Also, Christian Watson might be a great receiver, but he just can’t be counted on to stay on the field.

JACKSONVILLE -10.5 over Indianapolis

The Jags already have the Colts’ number, having beating their AFC South rival seven out of their past 10 meetings while Indy hasn’t won in Jacksonville since 2014. The roster teardown already has begun and the Jags are well-rested coming off their bye. This could be a bloodbath.

CINCINNATI -10.5 over Tennessee

After scoring 35 straight points in the second half last week, why shouldn’t we believe the Bengals can keep it up against the lowly Titans, who traded away Jeffery Simmons? A blowout certainly could be in the cards.

Cleveland +3.5 over PITTSBURGH

We’ve already seen this matchup earlier this month, ending in a three-point win for the Browns. While we’d back the Steelers straight up, this game could come down to another late field goal, so we’ll take points with the hook.

Minnesota +3.5 over DETROIT

If there’s one thing that we know Jared Goff hates, it’s being under pressure and the Vikings will bring it in spades. The Lions continue to get a lot of respect from sports books despite having some fairly big holes on the roster.

TAMPA BAY -2.5 over Atlanta

The results are starting to catch up to the analytics for the Bucs, who has been ranked as one of the best 0-4 teams ever and then won two out of their next three. While we’re still unsure of how effective Baker Mayfield can be coming off his thumb injury, we’ll back him at home.

Arizona +6.5 over DALLAS

This is a spot that Cowboys fans know far too well: After feeling good coming off a solid victory, they go out and blow an easy one against a team they should beat. The Cards beat them in a similar spot last year and why can’t they do it again?

NEW YORK JETS -1.5 over Las Vegas

Trade rumours are getting louder in Vegas while the complaints are starting to come in New York. Which team will put off a potential fire sale for another week? We think the hosts have an edge on the field.

Baltimore +3.5 over BUFFALO

If Lamar Jackson plays – it’s trending that way – that makes this pick a bit easier. While the Bills have won three of the past four meetings with Baltimore, they haven’t won by more than three points since 2007.

LA Chargers +6.5 over LA RAMS

The desperation must be palpable for the Chargers, who are the last winless team in the NFL and coming off their bye. They have to at least keep things close against a Rams team that hasn’t played up to their potential, right?

MIAMI +6.5 over New England

Miami has been a house of horrors for the Patriots in the past, which is why it’s hard to spot this many points down south. It’s also hard to overlook that the Dolphins have looked feisty over the past few weeks.

DENVER +1.5 over Kansas City

Much has changed since these teams met to kick off the season. The Chiefs have lost their top receiving weapons and have become overly reliant on Kenneth Walker for any type of explosive play. The Broncos should be feeling much more comfortable this time around, especially at home.

Philadelphia +5.5 over WASHINGTON

Has the Eagles slander may have gone a bit too far, or is Philly really going to fully bottom out? While there haven’t been many positives to take from Tanner McKee’s play, this is too many points for the Commanders to be spotting in a division game.

Chicago +3.5 over SEATTLE

This is a potential playoff matchup and should be a dandy. But one of Seattle’s big flaws is Sam Darnold’s turnovers, which could be huge for a Bears team that has been able to capitalize on them in the past.

Last week: 8-6

This season: 52-55

Best bets: 4-3
