Sophie Cunningham might have broken the hearts of some of her admirers, with recent photos claiming that she is off the dating market.
In photos posted by X account Fever Updates, Cunningham was seen cuddling up to Frank Adams, the head athletic trainer for the men’s basketball program at Grand Canyon University.
The photos appear to have been taken as Cunningham celebrated her 30th birthday while partying on a boat in the Lake of the Ozarks.
Cunningham shared photos of herself wearing the same bikini as in the photos with Adams dated Sept. 7 and also showed off a birthday cake.
Do Cunningham and Adams have history?
The pair do have a professional connection from their past, having spent time under the same employer.
Adams, who has been a member of GCU’s sports medicine staff since 2025, previously was an assistant athletic trainer with the Phoenix Suns.
Before joining the Fever in 2025, Cunningham also had played for the Phoenix Mercury from 2019-2024 and both teams are owned by Mat Ishbia.
The pair also have been spotted at GCU games together and at other events.
Neither have commented publicly on the dating rumours, which continue to gain momentum.
What was Sophie doing at a NASCAR race?
This past weekend, Cunningham was the NASCAR Illinois 300’s social media darling, attending her first NASCAR Cup Series race as a contributor for USA Network.
With the WNBA on a break for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, the Indiana Fever player was spotted shaking hands with Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, who is a co-owner of the NASCAR team 23XI Racing, and four-time NASCAR Cup Series champ Jeff Gordon on pit row at World Wide Technology Raceway.
She was also seen meeting several drivers, including Austin Dillon and Chase Elliott, who both gave her swag from their teams.
Cunningham also hit the stage with former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace at a fan zone event in which she kicked a football into the crowd.
The ball hit a microphone stand near the stage with the veteran guard laughing it off, saying, “I’m so sorry. I should really not do any sport.”
