Tate McRae parked the Sports Car and went for a nice stroll with her latest rumoured love interest on Monday afternoon.
The Canadian singer was seen out for a walk in New York City with New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes, adding to the speculation that the pair are a romantic item after they were spotted out for dinner last month in Manhattan.
McRae also was seen watching Hughes make his return from a “freak injury” during the Devils game against the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday in Newark.
Orlando-born Hughes, 24, had been out for more than a month after suffering a hand injury during a team dinner. According to reports, Hughes sliced open his hand on a broken glass, requiring surgery.
While he played nearly 21 minutes in his return on Sunday and scored a goal, Hughes was spotted wearing what appeared to be a bandage and brace on his hand while walking with McRae.
According to reports, the pair took their time while exploring New York City, apparently undisturbed by the frosty December temperatures. McRae did appear to be enjoying a warm drink during the outing, with the duo sharing several laughs.
Hughes back from freak injury
After Sunday’s game, Hughes told NHL.com that he was glad to be back and that the injury wasn’t more serious.
“It was definitely fun to be on the ice and be practising so that was a good start for me,” Hughes said. “It’s hard to say (if this was the plan all along). Initially, I just listened to the doctors and see what they had to say.
“It was a freak accident that was just a freak thing, so I’m glad it wasn’t, like, season-ending or anything like that. It was good news for what I got. So, (I’m) glad I’m back now and feeling better.”
In late November, a photo purported to be McRae and Hughes dining together began to circulate online.
According to the celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi, which posted the pic, the two were spotted enjoying dinner at Anton’s in New York’s West Village.
A source told DeuxMoi: “The entire restaurant was staring” at the pair and Hughes “seemed nervous … was looking around a lot when they first sat down.”
McRae’s previous relationships
McRae, a 22-year-old from Calgary, this summer ended her relationship with Australian rapper The Kid LAROI (real name Kenneth Howard). They had been dating since January 2024.
The Greedy hitmaker dated Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cole Sillinger starting in 2021. They split in 2023.
McRae also recently wrapped her Miss Possessive Tour.
Both McRae and Hughes have yet to comment on the rumoured relationship.
