Taylor Trammell didn’t let a little thing like being out stop him from doing his home-run trot.
The Houston Astros outfielder rounded the bases and celebrated as he stepped on home plate as if he had homered during the fourth inning of Monday’s game against the Blue Jays.
The only problem was that Toronto outfielder Myles Straw — who made the start in centre after the team traded Daulton Varsho to the Astros earlier in the day — had made a leaping catch against the wall for the first out of the inning.
Trammell apparently believed that the ball went over the wall and kept up his run despite several Jays, including starting pitcher Shane Bieber, celebrating Straw’s highlight-reel grab.
On Sportsnet, the broadcasters noticed Trammell celebrating as he closed in on home plate, saying, “He’s got no idea!”
Play-by-play man Dan Shulman quipped that Trammell was “waiting for a Yander Diaz high-five” that never came while Joe Siddall said, “Now that’s what we call a ‘loud out.'”
The Blue Jays official account on X poked a little of fun at Trammell with a post, too.
“We could call this catch UNBELIEVABLE,” the team wrote. “We’d rather show you somebody who didn’t believe it.”

The clip quickly went viral online, with fans joking about Trammell’s unfortunate error.
“Nothing wrong with trotting the bases to celebrate a Myles Straw catch,” Gate 14 podcast posted.
“Man really thought Bieber was cheering him on around the bases,” another user wrote.
“Taylor Trammell with maybe the funniest and most embarrassing moments of the season,” a third posted.
“Alejandro Kirk just watching Trammell run home with a hand on his hip is absolutely sending me,” a fourth X user wrote.
Some fans felt bad for Trammell, who isn’t known for his power.
“Poor dude was so happy I almost feel bad,” one user commented on Reddit.
“Third base coach really hung him out to dry there,” another replied.
Trammell made his MLB debut in 2021 with the Seattle Mariners and briefly played for the Dodgers and Yankees before joining Houston in 2025. He has five home runs this season and 23 in his career.
The Jays and Astros will be back at it on Tuesday night, with Trey Yesavage taking the mound for Toronto while Houston counters with Hayden Wesneski.
