NFL WEEK 14 PICKS: 49ers will be worth their weight in gold

The lines are from Sportsbook Review and the home teams are in CAPs.

PITTSBURGH -6 over New England

The second-half Patriots offence was what we thought we would get all game long. Good thing/bad thing they made the most out of their first-half scores.

CLEVELAND -3 over Jacksonville

Joe Flacco played surprisingly well last week and kept the Browns in the game. If he can keep the ship steady against the Jags, the Browns defence should do the rest of the work against C.J. Beathard and Co.

BALTIMORE -7 over L.A. Rams

You have the Ravens coming off a bye against a West Coast team playing an early kickoff. Baltimore ranks behind only the 49ers in DVOA and has the league’s top-ranked defence. The Rams are on  a run, but it ends here.

CHICAGO +3 over Detroit

These two teams met just three weeks ago and it was a five-point game in Detroit. The Lions’ defence has been struggling recently while the Bears are showing improvement. This one should be close and we may even see the hosts get some revenge on their rival.

Carolina +5 over NEW ORLEANS

This is a difficult one to call because Derek Carr is in concussion protocol, but practicing. If he plays, which is looks like he might, we actually like the Saints less than if it was Jameis Winston igniting the offence.

ATLANTA -1.5 over Tampa Bay

The Bucs have just two wins over their past eight games and won came last week against the lowly Panthers. The Falcons won this matchup earlier this season in Florida and now the Bucs have some key injuries coming into this week. Not sure why the Falcons aren’t spotting a point or two more.

Indianapolis +1 over CINCINNATI

Jake Browning sure did impress in that prime time overtime win, but can he keep it up? What has impressed us most about the Colts recently is their defence and its ability to create turnovers. If it does that again, it can score a crucial road win.

NEW YORK JETS +3.5 over Houston

It’s almost impossible for the Jets’ quarterbacking situation to have turned out worse this season than it has. But, the question is, should the Texans be spotting more than a FG on the road against a solid pass defence like the Jets? We’ll take a chance on it.

SAN FRANCISCO -10.5 over Seattle

The Seahawks lost a nail-biter against the Cowboys last Thursday and are probably down their top two RBs. The Niners look like the class of the league and haven’t been slowed down at all since their bye week, winning their four games by a combined score of 134-49.

LAS VEGAS +3 over Minnesota

The Vikings continue to keep playing one-score games, which bodes well for getting points with the Raiders. Both teams have had extra time to work on some things, so we think it’ll be a close one.

Denver +2.5 over L.A. CHARGERS

Were we supposed to be impressed with the Chargers’ 6-0 win over the Patriots? This is a team with glaring problems that probably shouldn’t be spotting points here.

Buffalo +1.5 over KANSAS CITY

We all know the history between these two teams and we also know how much the Bills need this. Buffalo has the rest advantage coming off their bye and Josh Allen has been playing at MVP level. The Bills have won this matchup in the regular season the past two meeting, it’s usually the playoffs when they choke it away.

Philadelphia +3.5 over DALLAS

The Cowboys played the Eagles close earlier this season and just scored their first victory of the season over a winning team last week. But, the line just seems a shade high to us. The Eagles have some issues that can be exploited but are certain to be fired up for their rivals and need to get back in the win column.

MIAMI -13 over Tennessee

The return of De’Von Achane makes the Dolphins offence even more dangerous, which is very bad news for this pedestrian Titans team that simply won’t be able to keep up.

Green Bay -6.5 over NEW YORK GIANTS

Let’s not go and make too much out of Tommy DeVito’s two-game winning streak, which came against the Commanders and Patriots. Jordan Love has started to look like shades of Aaron Rodgers, developing into the potential cornerstone the team hoped he’d be.

Last week: 8-5

This season: 92-96-5
