NFL Week 10 picks

The lines are from oddsshark.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

OAKLAND +1 over Los Angeles Chargers

It came down the very end and the Chargers had their shot to win it. Instead, Philip Rivers looked like he was trying to lose the game.

CHICAGO -2.5 over Detroit

Will Mitchell Trubisky get a week’s reprieve from the calls for Chase Daniel to start? Maybe? The Lions aren’t in a position to exploit a Bears run defence that has been its weakness while Detroit has been one of the league’s worst teams at pressuring opposing QBs.

NEW ORLEANS -13 over Atlanta

Matt Ryan returns for the Falcons, but the Saints are getting back Alvin Kamara. Both teams are coming off the bye and one week off isn’t enough to fix what ails the Falcons horrible defence.

Kansas City (NL) over TENNESSEE

With Patrick Mahomes looking set to return, we don’t like the Titans’ chances. Derrick Henry should grind up some yards on the ground, but it won’t be enough to counter the Chiefs’ high=powered offence.

CINCINNATI +10 over Baltimore

This smells like a letdown game for the Ravens after last week’s big win over New England. First-time starting QBs have a stellar record this season and A.J. Green could make his season debut. In a divisional game, it’s too hard to give double-digit points to a home dog.

CLEVELAND -3 over Buffalo

The Browns, like the Eagles, are the type of matchup that the Bills will struggle with. Cleveland’s big weakness is its pass defence, which Buffalo has found tough to exploit in previous games. The Browns hype is officially dead, but we do think they can score a win over their Lake Erie rival.

New York Giants -2.5 over NEW YORK JETS

The loser of this game should have to change its name from New York to New Jersey. The Jets are at home, but both teams play in this stadium, so is there any advantage there? The one thing that pushes us in the Giants’ favour is Saquon Barkley, who is the best player on either side.

TAMPA BAY -4.5 over Arizona

The Cards impressed against the 49ers last week and have some extra rest heading into this one. But the Bucs defence has been solid against the run, so we don’t see David Johnson and Kenyan Drake making much headway. Jameis could put up some good numbers against the visiting defence, too.

Miami +10.5 over INDIANAPOLIS

Give credit to the Dolphins, they’re losing but they’ve at least been trying. The injuries are adding up again for the Colts and, while we expect Jacoby Brissett to play, he won’t be close to 100%. Indy isn’t a team that blows away opponents, with all of their games being one-score affairs.

Carolina +5 over GREEN BAY

The Packers are coming off a rough defeat, but their defence hasn’t been up to par for weeks now. The Panthers have lost just once with Kyle Allen at the helm, but the real key has been Christian McCaffrey, who has been unstoppable.

Los Angeles Rams -3.5 over PITTSBURGH

Jared Goff on the road is a risky proposition – especially when you’re spotting points with him. But the Rams we picking up steam before their bye and could continue here. Mason Rudolph has done little to inspire our confidence so far.

Minnesota +3 over DALLAS

The Cowboys just don’t perform well enough against good teams. The Vikings will miss Adam Thielen, but their running game is the real key. After suffering a tough loss the Chiefs, Minnesota should bounce back in prime time.

Seattle +6 over SAN FRANCISCO

How often is a potential game of the week matchup on Monday night anymore? The Niners are undefeated, but the Seahawks have the leading MVP candidate in Russell Wilson. While it should be fun to see the vaunted San Fran defence may be able to contain him, we’ll take the six points.

Last week: 6-6-1

This season: 75-56-1
