Picks for NFL Week 17

The lines are from Vegas and the home teams are in CAPs.

GREEN BAY -7.5 over Detroit

If Aaron Rodgers wants to put a bow on this MVP season, he’ll blow out a playoff contender like the Lions at home. If not, we can start discussing the merits of Tony Romo, Tom Brady and J.J. Watt.

Jacksonville +10 over HOUSTON

Speaking of Watt, he’s going to get his in this game. But 10 points is too much to spot with Case Keenum under centre.

Indianapolis -7 over TENNESSEE

The Colts don’t have much to play for, being virtually locked into the No. 4 seed, but the Titans are legit bad and need a better pick than a hollow victory.

BALTIMORE -8.5 over Cleveland

The Ravens get to face Connor Shaw, a practice squad QB signed this week, with their playoff hopes hanging in the balance. Plus, they’re much better at home.

Buffalo +5 over NEW ENGLAND

The Bills defence should get some licks in on the Patriots second-string team. And why is Kyle Orton starting this game? Shouldn’t Buffalo give E.J. Manuel this meaningless start to see if he has progressed while watching from the sidelines?

New York Jets +6 over MIAMI

Rex Ryan will more than likely go out with a bang than fizzle out in this resume-building game.

Carolina +4 over ATLANTA

The Panthers are secretly one of the better December teams out there and could sneak into the playoffs by winning this terrible division’s title.

Chicago +6 over MINNESOTA

Wouldn’t it be something to see Jay Cutler step up and win it big for Chicago? This is just too many points to be giving for the Vikings in a rivalry game.

San Diego +3 over KANSAS CITY

With Chase Daniel starting for the Chiefs, will we finally see a K.C. receiver catch their first touchdown of the season? Probably not.

NEW YORK GIANTS -3 over Philadelphia

You just cannot ride against Odell Beckham Jr. when ODB is facing off with the Eagles below-average corners.

Washington +6 over DALLAS

The Cowboys have a slim shot at a bye next week, but would be far better off resting Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray and basically any important player for their return to the playoffs.

New Orleans -4 over TAMPA BAY

The Bucs have an eye on the top pick while the Saints will more than happily take the win.

SEATTLE -13 over St. Louis

The way that the Seahawks are rolling and with their motivation to get the No. 1 seed, this one should be a blowout, even if the opponent makes a living by keeping divisional games tight.

SAN FRANCISCO -6 over Arizona

The Cardinals are just trying to make it through another week without another QB getting injured. If Ryan Lindley goes down, Logan Thomas will be starting next week. After that, could we really see Kurt Warner suit up?

Oakland +14 over DENVER

Has the Broncos offence been figured out? Or is Peyton Manning just showing his age. I wouldn’t expect Denver to pull out all the stops in what should be a meaningless game.

PITTSBURGH -4 over Cincinnati

The Bengals looked good against the Broncos, but the Steelers are know that they can’t give away a chance to host a playoff game while playing at home.

Last week: 9-7

This season: 129-105-4
