‘Marlins Man’ reveals surprising detail about Dua Lipa after viral Yankees game encounter

You never know who you might bump into at a baseball game. It could a world-famous pop star, her actor husband or the one of the most viral sports fans out there.

That somewhat unlikely trio was seated next to each other at Yankee Stadium during Game 3 of the ALDS on Wednesday night.

While most viewers were watching the action on the field between the host Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays, many people were absolutely transfixed on that was happening behind home plate as “Marlins Man” was seen conversing with Dua Lipa and Callum Turner.

All three were seated in the second row while taking in a game that saw the Rays win 4-3 after a controversial fan interference call on a fly ball by New York’s Anthony Volpe, eliminating the rival Yankees from the playoffs in a series sweep.

Who is Marlins Man?

“Marlins Man,” whose real name is Laurence Leavy, admitted on X after the game that he initially had “no idea” who the stars were when they sat next him.

“So I had no idea who this couple were and they were so nice and friendly to everyone,” Leavy posted. “I told them I know sports, not music nor movies.

“They recently got married in June in Italy, I think. I wish them 50 years or more of happiness.”

Leavy — who is a lawyer by trade — should know his share about sports, to be fair. After all, he has made thousands of appearances at events over more than a decade, always wearing a bright orange Miami Marlins jersey.

Has Dua Lipa never eaten a hotdog?

He also claimed that Wednesday’s contest was the Levitating hitmaker’s first baseball game — and another surprising first, too.

“It was her 1st baseball (game) ever. And 1st American hot dog ever,” he shared on X, while also claiming he “got her to stand during God Bless America unlike Bad Bunny.”

The Puerto Rican music sensation drew ire last year when he was spotted sitting down while the song played before a Yankees game.

Leavy also shared a selfie that he took with the couple, whom he claimed were the “nicest” celebrities that he has met — and he said he has met quite a few over the years.

Leavy, who said that he had 18 others in his party for the game, also seemingly threw out an invitation for the famous couple to take in another game with him.

“U r invited to join me sometime,” he wrote while posting the selfie of the trio.
