Who is the University of Florida freshman that is college football’s newest viral fan?

The torch seemingly has been passed from college football’s favourite viral fan to the next, with Peyton Blomqvist embracing her new-found online stardom.

The University of Florida student was spotted during ESPN’s broadcast of Saturday’s NCAA football game between the Gators and Ole Miss Rebels, instantly becoming a hit on social media.

It didn’t take long for Blomqvist, an 18-year-old nutritional science student to do her best to capitalize on the attention.

On Sunday, Blomqvist posted several photos on Instagram of herself wearing her now-famous outfit before the game, along with groups photos with Zeta Tau Alpha sorority sisters and footage from the game.

“Work the cut,” she captioned the post — a cheeky double entendre referring to the Gators’ rally cry this season and her revealing outfit.

Head coach Jon Sumrall introduced the motto this season for the undefeated Gators, calling for his players to imitate a boxer who opens up a cut on their opponent and then works it over until they are ready for a knockout blow.

The fact that the Gators game came against the Rebels is more fitting than it seems at face value. Earlier this month, an Ole Miss alumni had became the viral college football fan du jour after being spotted in the stands.

Since going viral, Blomquist has seen her social media accounts explode. As of Tuesday afternoon, she has reached 48,000 followers on Instagram and more than 33,000 on TikTok, despite not posting on the platform since April.

Who was the viral Ole Miss fan?

On Sept. 5, Sara Smith was shown on ESPN’s broadcast nervously watching the third quarter of a tight game between Ole Miss and Louisville, with the clip quickly going viral on social media as online fans fell for her.

She was identified by X account Campus Cuties as an Ole Miss alumni and the post has since racked up millions of views on social media.

After becoming Internet Famous, Smith took to TikTok — her Instagram account is set to private — to share some of the most interesting messages she received in the wake of her viral stardom.

In the video, Smith posted screenshots of some messages while blocking out usernames.

One asked if she wanted them to pick up anything from Whole Foods for her, while another asked what type of designer bag she would prefer from Paris (her answer was Louis Vuitton).

Then things got a bit weirder, with one DM simply reading “Bankrupt me,” while another said, “Let’s make” with a baby face emoji.
