It hasn’t taken long for things to heat up in the much-talked-about summer romance between Bryson DeChambeau and Mikayla Demaiter.
The LIV Golf star was spotted walking hand-in-hand and leaving this past weekend’s event with the influencer once dubbed the ‘World’s sexiest hockey player.’
The pair were caught on camera this past Sunday as DeChambeau left the LIV Golf Indianapolis event at The Club at Chatham Hills alongside Demaiter.
Golf news aggregator NUCLR GOLF posted a video on its Instagram account showing them together with Demaiter holding onto his arm as they walked towards a cart path with the caption “Bryson DeChambeau leaves LIV Indy with girlfriend Mikayla Demaiter.
The video also showed the golfer signing autographs for some fans before the pair hopped on the back of a golf cart and took off while he placed his hand on her thigh.
While DeChambeau and Demaiter have yet to openly discuss their situation, it was the first time that the couple had been seen in public since romantic rumours began involving them.
How long have Bryson and Mikayla been dating?
Last week, Us Weekly reported that the DeChambeau and Demaiter were dating, with an insider telling the outlet that “they are both pretty private when it comes to relationships,” while adding they’re “very happy” right now.
The Athletic reported on Saturday that DeChambeau also “kissed his girlfriend before leaving” the course and that the golfer told the broadcast “there’s something fun coming,” on Sunday.
Whispers about a potential relationship between the DeChambeau and Demaiter began earlier this month, when she began posting photos on social media while attending LIV Golf’s tournament at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.
Demaiter posted several photos from the event while wearing a lanyard and guest pass badge around her neck which stated that she was a “player guest” and listed the team as Crushers GC, which DeChambeau captains.
The intrigue was only dialled up further when Demaiter shared photos of herself from what appeared to be DeChambeau’s home gym, with users on social media quick to point out that the equipment beared the golfer’s personal logo.
“Here to make everyone forget what they’re doing,” she captioned the photo on X.
She also posted selfies from what appeared to be DeChambeau’s closet, with dozens of pairs of shoes in the background.
How was Demaiter’s hockey career?
The Chatham, Ont.,-born beauty was forced to retire from hockey in 2019 at just 19 years old due to knee injury. She announced her retirement with an emotional message on social media, saying that it was “time to turn the page and move to the next chapter.”
During her unfortunately brief career on the ice, the 5-foot-4 Demaiter played goaltender for the Bluewater Hawks in Canada’s Provincial Women’s Hockey League.
She played in 20 games during the 2018-19 season, notching a record of 5-11-0 with a goals-against average of 2.25 and a save percentage of .909. She also had three shutouts.
His most recent public relationship was with Hunter Nugent, a former golfer at the University of Texas. The pair reportedly split in September 2022 and he has stayed out of the spotlight romantically since then.
