Alysha Newman has another runway in sight, but the Canadian Olympic pole vaulter won’t be running down it at full speed, looking to clear a bar many metres above her head – we assume.
No, the bronze-medal-winning athlete instead has landed a modelling audition with Victoria’s Secret, according to a video the London, Ont., native posted on TikTok.
In the clip posted on Wednesday, Newman shared a screenshot of a message from the world-famous lingerie brand that confirms that the 31-year-old has been invited to an in-person casting session for a spot in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Newman also shared a portion of her submitted video audition in which she talks about moving from Toronto to Los Angeles to pursue a modelling career.
Does Newman have modelling experience?
This career switch shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to her fans and followers, being that she worked with a number of major brands throughout her athletic career including Nike.

While she is an Olympic medallist, Newman went viral after launching an OnlyFans account.
On her account, Newman posts photos of herself, many a combination of athleticism and sexuality, and has a subscriber base of 25,000.
She also went viral at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris when — after setting a Canadian record with a jump of 4.85 metres in the pole vault final — Newman busted out a celebratory twerk, sending social media into a frenzy.
Will Newman compete at Olympics again?
Her athletic career, however, seems to have come to an end.
Newman recently received a 20-month suspension from the Athletics Integrity Unit for breaking anti-doping whereabouts rules, having missed three doping tests over a 12-month period.
The AIU said that Newman was unavailable for unannounced doping control visits in 2025, with the athlete later saying that the missed tests “occurred in the context of a period of significant personal and professional change, which she described as increasingly disorganized and overwhelming.”
While she has yet to officially announce her retirement, the AIU’s suspension fell short of the usual 24-month ban due to Newman stating it was her intention to hang up her cleats.
