Angel Reese’s prayers seemingly have been answered and her Dream come true.
The WNBA star, best known for her rivalry with Caitlin Clark and for modelling for Victoria’s Secret last year, was traded by the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream on Monday.
Reese had taken a shot at her team late last season, saying that it might be best for her to “move in a different direction and do what’s best for me.”
In return for Reese, the seventh-overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft and a two-time all-star, the Sky received first-round picks in 2027 and 2028, while the Dream also acquired 2028 second-round swap rights.
How good is Angel Reese?
Since entering the league, Reese has been the WNBA’s best rebounder, averaging 12.9 per game over her two seasons.
She also led the league in double-doubles last season with 23, while also topping the Sky’s leaderboards in both scoring (14.7 points) and assists (3.7).
“I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to join the Atlanta Dream organization,” Reese said. “I’m focused on continuing to grow my game, competing at the highest level, connecting with the fans and giving everything I’ve got to the Dream.”

What was Angel Reese’s threat?
However, the Sky struggled with a record of 10-34 in 2025 — tied for the worst mark in the league with the Dallas Wings.
The team’s woes led to Reese speaking out, all but demanding a trade in the off-season.
“I am very vocal about what we need and what I want,” Reese told the Chicago Tribune in September. “I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.”
She added that the team needed to add some “good” and “great players,” calling it a “non-negotiable.”
What did Chicago Sky GM say about trade?
As a result of her comments, the team suspended her for half a game.
“This trade is designed to achieve roster balance and represents a great opportunity for all parties,” Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a statement.
“Angel has achieved many record-breaking milestones in her first two years in the WNBA and has been a competitive force for the Sky. We are thankful for her many important contributions to this league and this game and we know she will continue to have a big impact on the court and beyond. We wish Angel all the best in her next chapter.”
