Soon enough, it won’t just be Heated Rivalry’s steamy action that will be keeping you warm at night.
That’s because fans of the megahit TV series have spoken and now the fleece will be released!
Accent Aigu Entertainment and apparel company Province of Canada announced that they will partner up to release the iconic Team Canada fleece jacket worn by one of the main characters, Shane Hollander, during the series.
In a short-but-sweet joint statement posted on Instagram on Wednesday, the companies simply wrote: “We’re releasing the fleece.”
The post blew up and has received more than 100,000 likes.
During the series, which centres around two closeted male professional hockey players who fall for each other, Hollander – played by Hudson Williams – is seen wearing a white fleece with red lettering and detailing while representing Canada at the Olympics.
“We’ve listened closely to what (fans) have been asking for and the fleece jacket has been at the top of that list,” show creator Jacob Tierney said in a press release. “We’re so excited to partner with Province of Canada. As a Canadian-based, independent apparel brand that does amazing work sourcing and manufacturing high-quality clothing, we share a common ethos.”
The show, which is based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changers book series, was adapted for Crave TV and aired in late 2025, becoming an instant sensation.
Online petition goes viral
The collaboration was sparked by an online petition on Change.org titled “Make the Heated Rivalry Fleece Official Team Canada Merch.”
The post garnered more than 6,000 supporters and clearly was a success.
The petition was created by Farrah Sanjari in response to a Team Canada Threads post. In an Instagram video posted shortly after the petition was posted, Sanjari shared that thousands had signed and used hashtags #fleecegate and #releasethefleece.
While the forthcoming release is not official Team Canada merchandise, fans are unlikely to mind.
What are the producers saying?
“Fans are the heart of Heated Rivalry, and this is entirely because of them,” Tierney and co-executive producer Brendan Brady said in a press release.
“We look forward to bringing it to life with the creativity and care fans expect, while also supporting a meaningful cause.”
What did matter to those involved is that the operation will be Canadian produced and distributed.
“Producing the fleece in Canada was a shared priority and a key part of making this piece feel meaningful and true to the story behind it,” Province of Canada co-founders Julie Brown and Jeremy Watt said in a press release.
The partners also announced that 10% of all proceeds from the sweaters will be donated to a charitable organization to be announced at a later date.
While there is not an official release date for the fleece, interested fans can sign up for updates on Province of Canada’s website.
Will there be more seasons of Heated Rivalry?
As for the show, a second season already has been ordered after Crave said the first was its most-watched original series debut within the first seven days.
There will be plenty of existing material to work with as well. The seventh book in Reid’s series, titled Unrivaled, is set to released later this year.
