Like many fans of the Blue Jays, Ernie Clement just wanted to have some drinks after Game 7 of the World Series.
But, while teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. packed his bags and flew with his family for a vacation in Cancun, Mexico, Clement opted for a more low-key option: Rochester, N.Y.
Less than 24 hours after the final heartbreaking out of Game 7, Clement reportedly was at one of his favourite hometown haunts, the Pittsford Pub.
Clement, who set a MLB record with 30 hits in the post-season, was seen wearing a hoodie and winter hat, relaxing with some drinks and chicken wings while watching the Buffalo Bills take on — and defeat — the Kansas City Chiefs.
Clement is a big supporter of the Bills, having worn their jersey to Jays games in the past.

Of course, the local celebrity drew some attention from fellow patrons, signing some baseballs and posing for a photo with three young fans.
Clement has spoken about his love for his hometown pubs previously, comparing the camaraderie between his teammates to that of his best pals hanging out at Thirsty’s.
“I would tell them that it’s a team where we could all be hanging out at Thirsty’s, having a beer and really enjoying just being around everybody,” Clement told Rob Longley ahead of the World Series when trying to put into words the likability of this group of Jays. “The best part about it is hanging out with the boys. That’s why we’ve gotten so close — we spend a lot of time together. They’d be a good fit there.
“Obviously I just enjoy being around every guy in here.”
Clement’s infectious energy and passion made him a huge fan favourite this season.
After the team’s extra-inning loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Clement admitted to crying for “probably an hour” after the heartbreaking defeat.
“The only thing I can think of right now is spending this last night with all the boys. I’m just going to miss them in the offseason,” Clement said. “I couldn’t wait to come to the field every day and just hang with everybody. I’ve been crying for probably an hour. I thought I was done with the tears but I just love these guys so much.”
On top of his new MLB record, Clement also was nominated for two gold glove awards for his tireless work on defence at both third base and as a utility player.
Unfortunately, despite leading the Majors in defensive runs saved, Clement fell short of winning an award.
One thing that Clement and Blue Jays fans can look forward to is his future in Toronto. While the 29 year old is eligible for arbitration, he won’t be able to become a free agent until 2029.
