Suni Lee hits back at ‘bully’ critics after Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut

In her sport, Suni Lee gets literally judged for everything she does.

But when it comes to critics coming at the U.S. Olympic gymnast for her historic appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, she had no problem shrugging it off.

Many critics had commented on her height — Lee stands just five-feet tall — and questioned the casting choice by the lingerie brand for the rebooted show.

But the six-time Olympic medalist took to TikTok to address those that had mocked her online after her debut at the iconic runway show last week.

The video is set to popstar Ariane Grande’s song successful with the caption: “Can u guys stop bullying me.”

In the clip, Lee lip-syncs the lyrics, “It feels so good to be so young and have this fun and be successful, yeah, I’m so successful,” while walking towards a mirror and then posing with her hair and makeup looking stunning.

In just four days, the post has racked up almost one million likes on the social media platform.

Lee had made history as one of the first professional athletes to take part in the Victoria’s Secret show, along with WNBA star Angel Reese. The pair walked alongside influencer Quenlin Blackwell during the Pink segment.

Professional model Avary Hutzelman sparked controversy with a viral TikTok rant, comparing the athletes’ casting to “letting a model play in the WNBA championship” while also slamming what she called “inclusivity bullsh*t.”

While Lee’s own TikTok post shows she was unfazed, her supporters also had her back.

“Girl i got your back. Why are people bullying you because of your height? “Like u can’t control that bro,” one user commented, to which Lee responded “Like, literally.”

Another follower pointed out that how using the athletes to model the Pink brand was on point.

“I’m so tired of the ‘omg we want ACTUAL models not athletes and influencers,’” the user wrote. “Notice how they modeled for PINK. Because PINK is catered to teens, teens are in sports and look up to girls like Suni and Angel, teens are on social media and love influencers like Quen.”

Lee has competed in two Summer Olympics, winning two gold medals, one silver and three bronze.

She took her first gold in the all-around gymnastics competition at the Tokyo Games before capturing her second as part of the U.S. team in Paris in 2024.
