For a seventh-round draft pick, Tez Johnson had an eventful rookie season in the NFL.
Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver is now making headlines for the wrong reasons.
Johnson has been called out by his former fiancée for not only cheating on her, but also doing so on the day of their engagement.
Laila Thompson-Wainer, a part-time staffer with the Seattle Seahawks, made the bold revelation on TikTok this week that Johnson had messaged other women both before and after their supposedly special day.
In a five-minute video posted on the one-year anniversary of the proposal, Thompson-Wainer detailed the huge day that Johnson planned for the occasion, including a trip to a reptile zoo, a romantic marriage proposal, a beach photoshoot and then a sushi dinner.
However, Thompson-Wainer later found that her new fiancé had texted a woman that morning with a raunchy message.
What did the text messages say?
“Need your throat,” it allegedly read.
Thompson-Wainer also claimed that 12 hours later, after returning from the outing, Johnson again texted the woman – reportedly his ex – asking when they could hook up.
“For some reason,” she said, “you cheat before and after you propose, the morning of and the night — that’s just something that I will never understand. I’ve given up on trying to understand how someone can be that evil.
“I think you just have to be a sociopath. And that’s just it at the end of the day.”
Johnson has not responded to Thompson-Wainer’s allegations.
Thompson-Wainer added that she hopes her story will help women dealing with similar situations.
“If I had to have the devil in disguise as a fiancé, and I had to go through that, then let me utilize the blueprint of a bad, s***** man to promote conversations about healing and create a community of women. That is what I want to do.”
How was Johnson’s rookie season?
Johnson, 23, was thrust into action with the Bucs due to injuries, playing 16 games and starting eight of them. He had 28 receptions for 322 yards and five touchdowns in his rookie campaign as the Bucs fell short of returning to playoffs.
With the Seahawks winning this year’s Super Bowl, you could even say that Thompson-Wainer was the big winner in this breakup – and scored a much better ring in the end, anyway.
