Since the high-profile breakup of Cowboys’ Dak Prescott and his fiancee, Sarah Jane Ramos, several rumours have emerged as to what caused the couple to call off their wedding.
TMZ reported on Saturday that the wedding planned for next month was a no-go after Prescott and Ramos had a “blowup argument” during their joint bachelor and bachelorette party trip to the Bahamas last weekend.
The outlet then reported on Monday that Prescott and Ramos had contacted guests, officially cancelling the Lake Como wedding.
Page Six said on Tuesday that the root of the argument and ensuing breakup was “ongoing infidelity issues” by the four-time Pro Bowler.
A “source familiar with the situation” told the outlet that Ramos believes Prescott had been communicating with other women during their relationship, allegedly using different social media profiles to send inappropriate messages to several women and exes.
The couple reportedly discussed the situation in January, with the tipping point occurring during their Bahamas trip.
Prescott and Ramos were a couple since 2023 and have two daughters, Margaret and Aurora, ages two and nine months, respectively.
The source also told Page Six that Ramos is “done” with her romantic relationship with Prescott and the pair will now focus on co-parenting their children.
Rumours of a prenup dispute
The couple got engaged in 2024, shortly after Prescott signed a massive US$240-million contract extension with the Cowboys.
On Monday, Ramos shut down rumours started on social media that she had called off the wedding over an argument about a prenuptial agreement.
Speakeasy podcasts hosts LeSean McCoy and Emmanuel Acho – both former NFLers – were discussing the breakup and the prenup rumours on Monday, when Ramos weighed in via the comment section.
“This had nothing to do with a prenup,” she commented on an Instagram post of the clip. “I hope we can put that rumour to rest now.”
Hints at breakup with bikini pictures
Many believe that Ramos dropped a subtle hint on social media that they had split days before it was reported.
“I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends,” she posted on Instagram. “I love these girls so much.”
The post contained many pictures of a bikini-clad Ramos with a large group of friends, including several Cowboys WAGs like Jeanne Grier, the wife of quarterback Will Grier, and Brandi Yvonne, the girlfriend of safety Juanyeh Thomas.
What to know about Ramos
Ramos, a certified wine and spirits specialist, opened up during an interview in late 2024 about how having children changed their lives.
“Obviously, parenting brings a new element to your relationship because it’s not about you two anymore, the priority is your child,” she told Sports Illustrated.
“(Parenthood) makes you understand your partner on such a deeper, emotional level, and it’s definitely brought us even closer.”
Last week, Ramos posted a series of photos from her bridal shower, which included Margaret and Aurora.
“The most intimate and beautiful bridal shower of my dreams,” she captioned the post. “So grateful for my aunts who hosted it and my girlfriends and family that came to celebrate.
“I love you all so much and can’t wait to marry the love of my life with all of you by my side.”
TMZ reported that Prescott and Ramos will now focus on co-parenting their two children going forward and that “the relationship is beyond repair.”

On Monday, TMZ reported that the pair wrote to the 250 guests, apologizing in an email for the last-minute cancellation of the wedding, which had been scheduled for April 10.
“It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers,” read the email, which was obtained by TMZ.
Dak Prescott’s on-field accomplishments
Prescott has been the Cowboys starting QB since being selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft out of Mississippi State. He immediately rose to stardom, winning the rookie of the year award.
Despite his regular-season success – Prescott has thrown for almost 36,000 yards over his 10 seasons in the NFL, along with 243 passing touchdown – he and the Cowboys have struggled in the playoffs, posting a 2-5 record during his tenure and never reaching a conference final game.
