Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt announces engagement to former star QB’s son

Easter weekend certainly will be one that Gracie Hunt will never forget.

The daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt announced her engagement on Saturday evening, sharing several photos from the romantic proposal by now-fiance Derek Green.

“He is Risen Thank You, Jesus — for salvation, for love, and for this beautiful chapter You’ve written for us,” she wrote. “You painted the purest picture of love the world has ever seen, and today we celebrate that gift.

“As we step into this new season of life together, our prayer is simple — to love each other the way You loved the church. Selflessly. Faithfully. Completely.”

She finished her message by wishing her followers a happy Easter “from our hearts to yours.”

Green commented on the post, writing “FOREVER AND EVER” with two heart emojis.

The post has received more than 48,000 likes as of Monday afternoon.

In her Instagram Reels on Monday, she also shared a video from the proposal with “walking towards your forever” written on a clip of herself strolling towards the beautifully decorated stage with the stunning Arizona desert as a backdrop.

Hunt also posted some photos on X, including a closeup view of her stunning new ring.

The ring appears to be a diamond-encrusted split shank ring with a coloured stone placed on the side where the bands separate.

How long have they been together?

Hunt and Green, who both attended Southern Methodist University, went public with their relationship last April, but have known each other since they infants.

Hunt and Green, the son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green, would often play together as babies at team Christmas parties, according to the heiress.

“Derek and I have known each other our whole lives,” Hunt told People in an interview last year.

“We would actually play together as babies during the Chiefs’ Christmas parties every year, and then we reconnected as adults in 2017 and met on the sidelines pregame.

“We reconnected in early March and have been inseparable ever since.”

Green also enjoyed a short pro football career playing in college and for several teams in Europe.

What did her family say?

Several family members and close friends were on hand to witness the proposal, with Hunt’s sister and mother among the many to comment on the photos the 27 year old posted.

“I am overjoyed,” sister Ava commented.

“’DREAMS DO COME TRUE!! Congratulations you two!! We love you so much!!!” mother Tavia wrote.
