This may be baseball’s off-season, but there are no days off when it comes to special social events, it seems.
Eric Lauer has become the latest member of the Blue Jays to get hitched, when the pitcher tied the knot with his partner Emily Dobbin over the weekend.
The new Mrs. Lauer and several wives and girlfriends — or WAGs — of his Toronto teammates shared pictures and videos from the event on social media.
According to reports, Lauer and Dobbin have been together since at least 2019, when he was a member of the San Diego Padres. They share a young son named Landon, who was spotted several times in social media posts watching the team’s magical playoff run with Emily.
The wedding took place in Scottsdale, Ariz., at the Clayton House venue with teammates Shane Bieber and Brendon Little among those in attendance.

The couple shared several photos from the event and a classic wedding photo shoot, but also had a blast on the dance floor with Emily changing out of her stunning dress into a form-fitting white bodysuit.
What is on their wedding registry?
The couple is registered on The Knot, with plenty of household items on their wish list – plus one huge purchase that was left untouched.
The top item on the list is a golf simulator, which has a retail price of US$1,299, but it appears that none of the guests opted to spring for the big-ticket purchase for the Lauers.
Emily Little, the wife of Jays reliever Brendon Little, shared a pic of the pair from the event under a sign that read “Better together.” She captioned the shot: “Congratulations to Lauers!”
Kara Bieber, the wife of Jays starter Shane Bieber, also shared an Instagram Story from the event and congratulated the happy couple.
Who else got married this off-season?
The Lauers aren’t the only newlyweds in the Jays family this off-season.
Fellow pitcher Braydon Fisher kicked things off in November when he wed fiancee Brianna Ririe in a ceremony in Montgomery, Texas, roughly 100 km north of Fisher’s hometown of League City, Tex.
A large contingent of members of the 2025 Blue Jays also attended the wedding of Bo Bichette earlier this month — a couple of weeks before he signed a three-year, $126-million deal to join the New York Mets. Bieber, Ernie Clement and Max Scherzer were among those in attendance when the all-star shortstop wed longtime girlfriend Alexis.
Next off-season likely won’t be a slow one either on the social calendars for the Blue Jays. Rookie sensation Trey Yesavage and girlfriend Taylor Frick announced their engagement just weeks after the team’s World Series.
All about Lauer
After spending the 2024 season playing in South Korea, Lauer returned to MLB with a vengeance. He posted career-best numbers in ERA and WHIP while posting a record of 9-2 in 28 appearances. His 102-26 strikeout-walk ratio was among the Majors’ best last year.
The pitcher and the team currently are going through the arbitration process. Lauer filed for a $5.75-million salary for the 2026 season, while the team countered at $4.4 million. The 30-year-old hurler had earned $2,200,000 in 2025 on his one-year deal.
