NFL CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND PICKS: Can Seahawks defence hold up against Rams?

The lines are from Covers.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

New England -5 over DENVER

Despite having Jarrett Stidham in at QB for the injured Bo Nix, there are some legit reasons to back Broncos, including a great pass rush that will keep Drake Maye under pressure all day long. But the Pats have done an excellent job facing some of the league’s best defences over the past few weeks and shouldn’t feel too daunted in Denver. The Pats also have a two-headed run game that could do well and should be able to stop the Broncos rushing attack, which will be necessary with Stidham under centre.

SEATTLE -2.5 over Los Angeles Rams

This game may very well be the one that crowns the Super Bowl champion as both sides will be favourites against the AFC champ. While Sam Darnold is still dealing with an oblique injury, it didn’t seem to impact him much during last week’s blowout and the Rams defence has fallen off in efficiency down the stretch. On the other hand, Seattle’s defence remains a huge strength, even if it will be tested big time once again by Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Co.

BONUS PROPS

Some angles we’d be looking to back when it comes to props: Cooper Kupp should get some space while the Rams focus most of their attention on Jaxon Smith-Ngiba, look for the ex-Rams star to go over most of his totals; Rhamondre Stevenson is the type of physical back that should do well against the Denver run defence, especially considering how well James Cook did last week; Drake Maye should go over his number for pass attempts, as he has the past few outings.

Last week: 3-1

This playoffs: 3-7

This season: 121-143-8
