Bo Bichette and new wife Alexis stepped into the spotlight in the Big Apple on Wednesday, a rare sight after the former all-star’s seven years in Toronto.
While Bo shined under the floodlights at Rogers Centre, Alexis has rarely been spotted in front of media during her time by his side. In fact, neither Bo nor Alexis have a public social media account – a rarity these days for athletes and their partners.
However, during Bichette’s introductory press conference after signing a three-year, US$126-million deal with the New York Mets, Alexis was by his side and took part in a media photoshoot at Citi Field.
Alexis and Bo posed together on the steps of the team’s first base dugout with a snow-covered field in the background. While Bo was wearing his brand new Mets No. 19 jersey and hat, Alexis wore a blue and orange outfit – under a warm jacket, considering the conditions — with a cap of her own.
Alexis also posed with Bo and his family at the event, during which the infielder spoke about how they influenced his decision to join the Mets.

“With a lot of prayer and conversations with my family and my agents and even some friends, came to the conclusion that it was very obvious that I wanted to be a Met,” he said. “(Owner Steve) Cohen and David (Stearns) have put together an organization is looking to win every single year.
“Has an opportunity to win a World Series every single year and a roster that backs that up. It’s very exciting to be a part of this city.”
What was Bichette’s farewell message to Toronto?
While Bichette was focused on his new team during the press conference, he did relay a goodbye message to Blue Jays fans through Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae.
Mae posted a message she said she was “passing along” from Bichette on Wednesday evening.
“If I wasn’t going to retire as a Blue Jay then I’m grateful we had Game 7,” Bichette began his message addressed to Blue Jays fans.
“The moment we shared in that game was just one detail away from all I could have wished for us together.
“I could not wish more that I’d delivered you a championship.
“I will carry your show of belief in me when I returned for the World Series for the rest of my life. Thank you.
“You watched me grow up. You lived with my ups and downs. You encouraged me anyway.”
Bichette concluded the message by saying that “Toronto will forever be a piece of my heart.”
Blue Jays fans will get their chance to show their feelings for Bichette in just a couple of months. The Mets are slated to visit the Rogers Centre for a three-game series from June 29-July 1.
Single-game tickets went on sale on Thursday morning, with a high demand to see the former star’s return.
When were Bo and Alexis married?
The Bichettes were married earlier this month in a ceremony attended by several of his former Blue Jays teammates.
As revealed through the social media accounts of several Toronto teammates and Blue Jays WAGs (wives and girlfriends), the all-star shortstop was married on Jan. 4 in Florida.
The news emerged through a post from Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman’s wife, Taylor, who shared a celebratory message on Instagram that read “Loved celebrating mr. and mrs. bichette!!!” (sic)
She added a couple of pictures from the night alongside her husband, one of Toronto’s many playoff heroes from the team’s run to within two outs of a World Series championship.
Emily Little, the wife for Blue Jays reliever Brendon Little, also posted from the event, which according to a menu took place at the Urban Stillhouse in St. Petersburg, Fla.
While it’s unclear exactly how many members of the Jays’ 2025 team were able to attend the wedding, several have been spotted in photos online, including Ernie Clement, Chris Bassitt, Shane Bieber, Addison Barger, Jeff Hoffman, Max Scherzer, Gausman and Little.
