The ex-girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs’ Rashee Rice claims that she has suffered domestic abuse for “years.”
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who shares two children with the star wide receiver, alleged in an Instagram post on Wednesday that she has “dealt with abuse for years” and that after a breakup between “me and this man,” her life has been “nothing but hell.”
Jones — who did not name her alleged abuser in the post — shared several photos of bruises and scratches on her face and body, as well as damage in her home.
Jones wrote in her Instagram post that she no longer wanted to protect “his image” and alleged that she was abused even while pregnant.
“I’m so tired of keeping quiet I’m so tired of protecting his image,” Jones wrote. “I’ve been through too much in a span of 8 years and I’ve had ENOUGH! I’ve dealt with abuse for years, me and this man decided to break up a couple months ago and since then it’s been nothing but hell.
“He’s very controlling, there’s been times he’s came to my new home broken my door, there’s been times when he would put his hands on me while I was pregnant.”
She added that her alleged abuser cut up her clothing and left her “with nothing” after he was caught cheating.
Jones also said that she had to beg for money so that she could leave Kansas and claimed that she and her children are being forced from their home “for no apparent reason.”
“I’ve protected his image too long and I’m done doing that. It’s time to protect my peace, protect my children and stand up for myself,” she concluded her post.
What are the Chiefs and NFL saying?
The Chiefs have said that they are aware of “allegations on social media,” issuing a short statement on Wednesday.
“The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League,” the Chiefs said in a statement, per the Kansas City Star. “We have no further comment at this time.”
The NFL also has commented on the situation, telling the New York Post that the league has “been in contact with the club about the matter which will be reviewed under the league’s personal conduct policy.”
Neither the Chiefs nor the league mentioned a name in their statements.
As of Thursday morning, Rice had yet to publicly address Jones’ post.
Rice’s off-field issues
WFAA reported that a source close to Rice said Jones is upset that the Chiefs star has moved on and is now dating someone else. The source also described Jones as a disgruntled ex-girlfriend.
Rice served a six-game suspension at the beginning of this NFL season after he pleaded guilty to charges for his role in a high-speed crash in Dallas that injured several people in 2024.
He was sentenced to five years of deferred probation and 30 days in Dallas County Jail, which he has yet to complete.
