After another week of seeing girlfriend Jordon Hudson’s name splashed across tabloid headlines, Bill Belichick is doing his best to stay out of the discourse.
The University of North Carolina Tar Heels football coach was asked about this week’s back-and-forth between Hudson and investigative journalist Pablo Torre — who the former college cheerleader apparently has threatened with a lawsuit.
“Right before the Duke game, there was a big story in the New York Post. And right before this game, there was a story with Jordon Hudson possibly filing a lawsuit against Pablo (Torre). How much do those distractions seep down into the team, and how much time do they take from what you’re trying to accomplish? Is there a way, in your mind, to try to eliminate some of that drama?” a reporter asked the 73-year-old coach during a media session on Thursday, according to Awful Announcing.
In typical Belichick fashion, wouldn’t mince words about anything other than his team’s focus on the game ahead.
“Yeah, I’m just focused on the game, that’s what our team is focused on,” he replied without getting into details about the situation involving his 24-year-old girlfriend.
Earlier this week, Hudson posted on social media that she is “suing” Torre, an investigative reporter.
Hudson and Belichick have been the subject of many reports by the ex-ESPN personality, who has done a deep dive over the past year into her relationship with the NFL coaching legend.
In a Sunday post on Instagram, Hudson shared a photo of herself wearing a University of North Carolina Tarheels all-access pass with a message to Torre.
“P.S. I’m suing you @pstorre,” Hudson wrote, tagging Torre’s handle and adding a hand heart emoji.

Torre responded a few hours later, reposting a news story about the apparent legal action and writing, “Hi @Jordonbella, I assume this means you’re declining my invitation to be a guest on @pablofindsout? Either way, I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks, Pablo.”
Torre, host of the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast, has been reporting on the couple’s relationship for months, drawing the ire of the former cheerleading champion.
As for Belichick, his future with the Tar Heels remains uncertain after struggling to a 4-7 record in his first season at the helm. UNC wraps up its season on Saturday against NC State, a game in which Belichick’s team is a seven-point underdog.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, there are “at least two NFL teams” that are anticipated to have interest in bringing in Belichick this off-season despite the off-field baggage involving Hudson and the poor on-field results at UNC.
The coach has said that he remains committed to the Tar Heels, recently brushing off talks of a reunion with the Giants after New York fired head coach Brian Daboll earlier this month.
“I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families,” said Belichick, who won two Super Bowls as the Giants’ defensive coordinator. “The New York Giants played an important role in my life and in my coaching journey. It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcells’ staff for over a decade.
“However, despite circulating rumors, I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies.”
