Mark Sanchez’s model ex breaks silence on stabbing incident: ‘None of this is surprising’

Bobby T, who shares an eight-year-old son with Mark Sanchez, says that she is not surprised that he was involved in a brutal stabbing incident earlier this month in Indianapolis.

The 44-year-old model, real name Erin Campaneris, broke her silence on the incident that left Sanchez and another man hospitalized after an altercation that allegedly was sparked by a parking dispute.

Campaneris shared a statement about Sanchez on her Instagram story Sunday after the former New York Jets star was released from hospital and booked on assault charges.

“I am aware of the serious criminal charges currently facing my son’s father, Mark Sanchez,” she posted.

“My foremost priority has always been, and remains, our eight-year-old son, Daniel. I chose to remain silent publicly to protect Daniel.

“Now that everything is out in the open, my focus hasn’t changed. I have always been concerned for his safety and for what he is exposed to. Sadly, none of this is surprising to me.”

Campaneris added that she only learned of the incident through the news and that she has no further details on the matter.

“Like everyone else, I learned of the horrific event through a news alert on my phone while sitting next to Daniel. I still know only what is publicly available,” she wrote.

“My thoughts and empathy are with the victim and everyone affected by this devastating event.

“I understand that we live in a very public world, but my hope is that as my son grows, he can be seen and understood apart from this story.

“At the end of the day, I’m simply a mama to a very sweet young boy doing my best to protect his peace.”

Sanchez has been married to actress Perry Mattfeld for more than two years and the couple announced in February that they are expecting twins.

Sanchez, who became an NFL analyst after he retired in 2018, also spoke about the incident after leaving the hospital on Sunday.

“Right now I’m just focused on my recovery,” Sanchez told reporter Max Lewis of Fox59 News and CBS 4 Indy, according to a video posted on X. “I just wanted to thank the first responders, Eskenazi Hospital … and I just want to thank Dr. (Lindsey) Mossler, the surgeon. She saved my life, so I’m grateful for that.”

Sanchez was booked Sunday on assault charges and processed by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office following his release from hospital.

He was stabbed in the chest during the alleged altercation with 69-year-old grease truck driver Perry Tole just after midnight on Oct. 4. According to court documents, Tole was parked in a hotel loading dock when Sanchez allegedly confronted him about a parking spot.

The Fox Sports analyst is facing a charge of level 5 felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury along with three misdemeanour charges: Battery resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.

If convicted, Sanchez could serve up to six years in prison. His next court date is Nov. 5.

Tole also has filed a lawsuit against Sanchez and his employer, Fox Sports, for civil damages.

In the lawsuit, Tole claims he “suffered severe permanent disfigurement” in the attack and his head, jaw and neck were badly injured.
