NFL WEEK 4 PICKS: Houston has a problem covering against Titans

The lines are from Covers.com and the home teams are in CAPs.

Seattle -1.5 over ARIZONA

For a change, it was the Cardinals making the late comeback and falling short and not their opponents.

Minnesota -2.5 over Pittsburgh in Ireland

Is Aaron Rodgers going to have what it takes to top this Vikings defence? Carson Wentz guided the ship just fine last week and should be able to do it again.

New Orleans +15.5 over BUFFALO

The Saints got absolutely clobbered by the Seahawks in Seattle last week and should be in for another big loss. The difference is that the Bills defence isn’t on the same level as Seattle’s and could be vulnerable to the back-door cover.

Tennessee +7 over HOUSTON

The first four games of Cam Ward’s career have been laughably hard and it doesn’t get any easier. But what we can bet on is that the Texans offence continues to sputter and that seven points is too many to lay in what should be a low-scoring, division affair.

DETROIT -9.5 over Cleveland

If the Browns were at home, we’d take this without a doubt. But in Detroit, where the Lions have been great under Jared Goff, we’ll lay this big number.

ATLANTA +1 over Washington

The Falcons are going to be in a tough spot if Michael Penix Jr. struggles again with a bye week looming. Jayden Daniels could return, but Terry McLaurin’s absence will be a big one.

Philadelphia -3.5 over TAMPA BAY

Losing Mike Evans is just the latest blow to this injury-riddled Bucs team. Even if Chris Godwin returns, he’s not going to be at full speed. The Eagles finally showed us what they can do during the second half against the Rams – now to keep it up.

NEW ENGLAND -5.5 over Carolina

Will Backdoor Bryce become a thing? We’re betting that the Pats aren’t going turn the ball over five times against a mediocre defence like the Panthers, who are coming off what probably amounted to their Super Bowl.

L.A. Chargers -6.5 over NEW YORK GIANTS

Look, we’re all excited to get Jaxson Dart starting over Russell Wilson, but the Chargers are no joke and rookies making their first NFL starts have a spotty record at best.

Jacksonville +3.5 over SAN FRANCISCO

The Jags may be 2-1 but they still haven’t impressed much in doing so. But the 49ers are down yet another star player with Nick Bosa out for the season and have a division matchup next Thursday on deck to prep for.

Indianapolis +3.5 over L.A. RAMS

Anyone that bet on the Rams last week suffered one of the worst beats of all time. But the hook is too much here and, at this point, we have to just ride the wave with the Colts until it crashes.

LAS VEGAS -1 over Chicago

Here’s betting that Caleb Williams isn’t going to do that again. Not against even a middle-tier defence.

Baltimore -2.5 over KANSAS CITY

Somehow, one of these Super Bowl contenders will be 1-3 after this one. The Ravens have some problems, but they don’t seem nearly as bad as what’s going on with the Chiefs and the vibes looking off in K.C.

Green Bay -7 over DALLAS

The Cowboys defence is just plain awful and with CeeDee Lamb on the shelf, the offence won’t have a chance to keep up. Micah Parsons will have his team more than fired up to do some big damage in Big D.

New York Jets +3 over MIAMI

The Dolphins may have a big rest advantage and home field, but that’s not enough. Mike McDonald saved his job for a week with that performance against Buffalo, but this could be it for him.

DENVER -7.5 over Cincinnati

It really feels painful to spot this many points with Bo Nix looking sophomore-slumpy, but the Bengals defence has been awful and Jake Browning is in tough again after being dominated by the Vikings last week.

Last week: 5-10-1

This season: 19-28-1
