MLB reporter goes viral after ‘ugly’ incident with cameraman during Brewers’ celebration

There was cause for celebration in Milwaukee on Saturday night, but things got a little bit rough and tumble between a reporter and a cameraman in the post-game festivities.

MLB on Fox reporter Ken Rosenthal has gone viral for an incident with Brewers team photographer Scott Paulus, after the two collided in the midst of an interview.

Rosenthal had been talking on-air with Milwaukee’s Andruw Monasterio following his game-winning hit — which clinched a playoff spot for his team — when his Brewers teammates came over and doused the rookie with a bucket of Gatorade.

As Rosenthal stepped backwards to avoid getting soaked, he knocked over Paulus, who was crouching behind him.

While it was clearly an accident, it is Rosenthal’s reaction that has people talking on social media.

Instead of helping up Paulus, Rosenthal instead gave him a dirty look, staring down at him before walking away and shaking his head.

Another staffer helped Paulus up while Rosenthal went back to continue his interview with Monasterio.

“Shoutout to Ken Rosenthal for running over the camera man and then giving him a dirty look as he doesn’t offer to help him up,” a Brewers fan account posted on X with a clip of the incident.

“I’ve come to learn over the past couple years from clips of his podcast, his on field interviews, etc that he is kinda sneaky very full of himself and thinks people watch baseball for him, so this kinda doesn’t surprise me, trying not to fully jump to conclusions but…lol,” the account added.

Since being posted early Sunday, the video has been viewed more than 13.2 million times on X.

Many on social media were quick to call out Rosenthal for callous behaviour.

“Dude, go over, reach down give him a hand and help the man up. Who the hell knocks someone over, shows no remorse, then shakes their head at him?!” one user replied to the video on X.

“How is this normal human behavior??” another fan asked. “If you accidently run into someone and turn around and see the person on their back on the ground, you quickly offer them an apology and help them up & maybe laugh with them. You don’t glare at them like this and walk away. what the HECK?”

Rosenthal addressed the incident during Monday morning’s episode of his YouTube show, Fair Territory.

“When I looked at the video, when I saw this, I was surprised at how upset I appeared,” Rosenthal said. “I was more confused than anything.”

He explained that being on a live national broadcast, he had to continue doing his job despite the incident.

“I felt awful about what happened,” Rosenthal said. “After I went up to Scott … and I apologized, I apologized profusely.”

The reporter then said that since Fox is covering the American League playoffs this year, he won’t be at any more Brewers games potentially until the World Series. But he added that if Milwaukee makes it to the Fall Classic, he would “look forward to working with Scott again” and “to sharing a good laugh with him over this.”
