Rob Gronkowski discusses ‘crazy’ story about Patriots star masturbating during team meeting

Rob Gronkowski has earned a reputation as a wild and crazy guy, but even he didn’t go as far as a former teammate during team meetings.

The retired NFL great all but confirmed a wild rumour about late New England Patriots teammate Aaron Hernandez during a recent appearance on the Bussin’ with The Boys podcast.

Former Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan brought up a story he had heard during his playing days that Hernandez used to masturbate during team meetings.

“We heard stories about him being in the team meeting room like beating off and like doing crazy s***,” Lewan said, to which Gronk gave his response with a chuckle.

“Possibly. That’s a possibility that one,” Gronkowski said, while sharing a laugh with the hosts.

“I may or may not have seen it live,” Gronkowski added. “I’m not going to confirm nor deny, but I love crazy s***, though. I didn’t mind things like that. I was like, ‘Wow, that was pretty epic.’ I was a wild man myself. Nothing fazed me. I encouraged it.”

Gronkowski and Hernandez were teammates on the Patriots from 2010-12, combining to become one of the best tight end duos in league history – before Hernandez’s downfall.

The former Florida star was arrested in 2013 and later found guilty of first-degree murder and weapons charges. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole and died by suicide in April 2017.

Gronkowski, who played 11 seasons in the NFL, said there was a lot of “craziness,” but he didn’t “see it going to the level it went to.”

The four-time Super Bowl champion also admitted that recent TV series documenting Hernandez’s life revealed details he didn’t know about his former teammate.

“I didn’t know it was that bad,” Gronkowski said. “I knew that there was definitely some wild sides to him, but with everything coming out, there is some I would say that is true in the documentaries that come out, there’s some that’s probably exaggerated a little bit but there’s some not exaggerated at all, either.

“Saw some of it, but didn’t know it was to that extreme and not surprised now either. It’s like, ‘OK, that makes sense now.’”
