With a nice, yummy menu of games today, I can’t help but take the day off to admire the bounty we are about to receive. No, I’m not American, but why not celebrate some good ol’ football? And, technically, I didn’t take the day off; it’s my scheduled day off. But anyway, that’s no reason not to sit back, relax and watch a football marathon. Heck, I might even try to get some turkey dogs in the crust of my pizza.
Houston -3 over DETROIT
Much has been made about the Texans going to overtime in Jacksonville then having to play a 12:30 road game on a short week. I don’t buy it. Houston is the far superior team here and I’ll gladly give the three points against the Lions struggling secondary. And really, Dominic Raiola? You want to poke the bear that is J.J. Watt? Not smart.
Washington +3.5 over DALLAS
The Redskins defence isn’t great and their offensive line might be just as flimsy as the Cowboys’, but I can’t shake the feeling that RG3 will do something special on a nationally televised game. Either that, or DeMarcus Ware smacks him into next week.
New England -7 over NEW YORK JETS
I know that Gronk is out, Hernandez probably isn’t going to play, the Pats defence is still quite weak and these teams went to overtime earlier this season, but there’s absolutely nothing at all that impresses me about the Jets. You know, other than the fact that they can consistently dominate the tabloid headlines for all the wrong reasons.
